Riso Paper Scissors: Enter the 36 frames

Enter the 36 Frames is the title of the Riso short film created by HBP, using the material that visitors made during the workshops in the exhibition Riso, Paper, Scissors. Each visitor had 36 frames to their disposal to create a three second animation sequence. These sequences went through a process of riso printing; scanning; cutting and editing together afterwards. From drawings and collages to prints and moving images: Enter the 36 frames is the outcome of a collective collaboration in which the participants meet through colorful layers. The soundtrack to the film is created by Hamburger Community of Art resident Viana Afoumou. She collected and transformed the beeps, cracks and other noises of the Risograph into a rhythmic soundscape.

During the event the film will be presented in a loop. Visitors are free to walk in and out to watch and re-watch. A special live score will be performed by Avvnt MM. Melancholic electronic music with a passion for ambient. Inspired by artist as Pharaoh Sanders, Sakamoto and Cluster, Avvnt MM will evoke a multitude of emotions by combining euphonious harmony with harsh noise that could (or could not) drown you.
