Roodkapje x Rotown: Death Sells, Fellatio, Eyesores (Roodkapje Centraal)
Location: Delftseplein 39
Death Sells is coming to Roodkapje (Delftseplein 39) for a release show of their debut album on Friday, May 8! Expect an impressive mix of noiserock, punk, and grunge from this Eindhoven-based band. Death Sells won’t be coming alone: Fellatio, with their Suicide-meets-The Fall disco-punk, and Eyesores, with their blazing garage punk tracks, will join as supporting acts to make it an unforgettable evening.
Death Sells
Death Sells has a dark and peculiar sound that bursts with energy. The music evokes a feeling you didn't know was there. With their dissonant tones, energetic shows, and sensitive lyrics about personal stories, they manage to leave a lasting impression. The band's name is inspired by a joke from the cult classic This Is Spinal Tap (1984). In the film, a character from the fictional band Spinal Tap explains a completely black album cover by saying: “Death sells!”
Fellatio
From Bissau to Palau, in the shades of Avalon – Fellatio’s crash course to infamy has so far been resplendently rotten. Imagine Surfside Sex taking place in Lord of the Flies, or Suicide and The Fall jamming together in a rabid, ghost pepper-induced delirium, and it would approximate the debauched, self-coined “Post Avant-Garde Krautpop Disco Punk” concoction this Dutch trio conjure together. Their jagged, propulsive sound manifested out of sheer accidental brilliance. Fuzzed out, feverish, and decisively droney. Fellatio became a lightning-quick word-of-mouth live sensation, spreading like a blight from Rotterdam’s stirring underground scene to the great beyond.
Indeed, Fellatio’s pilgrimage has only just begun.
Eyesores
When something disturbs you, your first instinct may be to look away, but Eyesores are something you cannot unsee. Not because they're pleasant, but because they linger. Eyesores hold a mirror in front of that which you would much rather destroy. This hunger for confrontation translates itself into quick, garage-punk tracks doused in gasoline and then set ablaze.
This concert is organized by Rotown and Roodkapje.
