Futura Resistenza x Edicoes CN night w/ Laura Kampman, Adriaan de Roover, Les
Certitudes, Francesco Cavaliere, DJs van Liskwartier
Rotterdam–Brussels Futura meets Antwerp’s Edicoes CN label for 4 live acts and a three-brain DJ
collective, going till kinda late! Whoooppp! Better get your ears cleansed beforehand. Stop!
Futura Resistenza is a label and platform based in Brussels and Rotterdam, operating at the
intersection of performance, music, and visual arts. For several years now Futura Resistenza has been
invited by Roodkapje to curate a series of concerts at their venue, featuring musicians and artists who are
connected to the label, as well as those they simply admire and wish to see perform.
Les Certitudes
Juliette Adam on clarinet, Judith Hamann on cello and Léo Dupleix on harpsichord are Les Certitudes.
Their music focuses on tones and tuning, working through long musical forms made up of layers and slowly
displacing matters. Their music is composed by Léo Dupleix, while the musical direction is the result of a
collective spirit. The ensemble came to life in 2021 as a means for developing acoustic music focusing on
justly tuned tones and harmonies, taking as a starting point the physicality of instruments – resonating
wood and metal. Their debut album Construire Sur Les Ruines D’un Passé Encore Fumant on Discreet
Editions beautifully proves their musical point, it being a collection of strangely and differently harmonic
pieces that are focused on a gently distorted sense of repetition and musicality.
Francesco Cavaliere
Francesco Cavaliere is a visual artist, writer and sound maker. He lives and works in Italy. His works are
capable of enlivening his listeners' inner states through a polymorphic activity that combines writing, sound,
voice, drawing, sculpture, which together stimulate the imagination, undertaking long journeys crossed by
ephemeral presences.
Adriaan de Roover
Acclaimed composer and musician Adriaan de Roover treats music-making as a portal into self-discovery.
Through subtle sonic transformations, each release marks his journey and embodies a new sound, feeling,
or place that resonates with a specific period in time from his life. Chansons de trottoir / Stoepliedjes is a
sonic portrait of a walk through Brussels. Embedded within these recordings are fragmented samples from
three tracks by the Brussels hip-hop group STIKSTOF. Their music became the soundtrack to a period in
which Adriaan’s desire to move from Antwerp to Brussels began to take shape. Through repeated listening,
the city of Brussels gradually revealed itself to him. The album documents his relationship to sampling in
the form of a radio play. It is an exploration of how one might find a personal place within the music of
others. It frames appropriation as an attentive and considered act. Suspended between memory and
imagination, the piece exists closer to a dream state than to reportage. Adriaan has a monthly slot on Kiosk
Radio and previously released records on Dauw, VIERNULVIER, PIAS, and Consouling Sounds.
Laura Kampman
Laura Kampman captures the sonic intimacy of daily life. Using phones, guitar, and synths, she weaves
voice notes, conversations, and ambient sounds into compositions that feel both personal and otherworldly.
DJs van Liskwartier
WEE-OOO WEE-OOO: Remember Vengaboys? Remember Tetris? Remember Misha Mengelberg?
Liskwartier.
