ARTRODESE
Joop van Reede (1977) started his own one man drum and bass project called ARTRODESE.
Joop started his first band in 1989 with his sister (Olga) and some friends. A bit later his father joined the band and called themselves Le Vavasseur. They played only 1 memorable gig at the local pub.
In 1994 he joined the local schoolband Clodhopper as a vocalist and played a couple of gigs before he joined punkband Die Nakse Bananen as a bassplayer. After 1,5 years full of gigs (50 gigs) he left the band and started 2 piece grindcore band Jesus Cröst with a friend and also started some Indie sideprojects (Friendy Fire, Hermits Friends..)
Jesus Cröst did many shows. From playing in squats and small venues to bigger festivals like Hellfest (France) and Maryland Deathfest (USA).
In 2012 Joop had his first wrist surgery because of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoporosis. Less gigs and the first long revalidation.
In 2014 Jesus Cröst called it quits after 244 shows in 30+ countries. The last gig was in Leeds (UK) just like one of their favorite bands Heresy.
The love for making extreme music was strong and Joop joined the band Sick of Stupidity as a vocalist. They immediately played the bigger venues and festivals in Canada, USA, Indonesia, France, UK, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Czech-Republic etc.
From 2015 untill the final gig at Berlin Grindfest in 2018 Sick of Stupidity played 80 gigs.
Because of another surgery Joop was forced to leave the band.
In 2022 the love for music was refilled.
The possibilities became less because of new surgerys (shoulder and wrist artrodese).
Unable to play guitar, bass, drums or any other instrument Joop was forced to make digital Drum & Bass music with a midi keyboard on a laptop.
He loved Drum & Bass since the early nineties and start writing songs the old skool way like he since the early nineties: on a piece of paper.
The first EP was recorded at in Rotterdam and fully mixed and mastered by Die Tonmeisterei from Oldenburg (Germany).
The digital release of SLAVE TO THE SYSTEM came out in january 2024 on all digital platforms by Bones Brigade Records (France).
New album TILT releasedate is sceduled for 20 march 2025 on Bones Brigade Records (France), Tape release on Haunted Hotel Records (USA) and Cikapajang Idea Records (Indonesia), Vinyl release by Give Praise Records (USA).
PLTPS
A Dubstep/ Bass-driven EDM duo from Rotterdam, who have been releasing their music since 2018. The sound of Platypus is a flirt between the light and the dark side. They combine these 2 extremes in their music as well as in their visuals, which are a prominent part of their personality on display.
Next to instrumental tracks, Platypus also writes vocal tracks, in which Mandy's arty voice sounds eerie and gives a creepy twist to their dubstep sound; something unique within Dubstep and other Bass-driven genres.
In 2021, they released Kikiriki: A music-video that came as part of an EP on Fat Kid on Fire FX. It was filmed in an old Glass factory near Rotterdam.
Mokka Spectrum
DJ Mokka Spectrum Press release: Exotic, German/ American, female DJ bringing her tribal roots and travels in an extra ordinary mixture of digital sound to inspire people around the globe. With a unique appearance, comes humour, wisdom and lots of joy. There is not one boring moment with DJ Mokka Spectrum. As her name depicts Mokka's Spectrum, covers a wide range of genres. Remarkably adapting her explicite taste in music, by capturing her surroundings and mostly subliminal, leading the audience to an ever surprising journey of music. From minimal-prog-tech (her German roots) to electro-swing to trip-hop to psy-dub and psy-trance. The newest genres being UK Garage 4/4 and ethnic downtempo, sampling vocals and acoustics. In all genres a fusion of the world is present. Mokka Spectrum will take you on a journey. Always versatile and surprising, when she plays! Mokka Spectrum is not just a DJ, she is a moving Festival, a DJ Act!
Frodo Tempo Records
Drum and Bass dj since 1992 & involved in the Dutch Electronic music scene since the early nineties. Besides dj-ing he produces under the PRPLX name (together with Deepflow). Frodo also runs the Tempo Records label.
“As a DJ I like to play various Drum and Bass & Jungle styles, new or old, it’s all good”. -FRODO-
