Mag ik in uw oorschelp kruipen?
A meeting of crawlers is called by a moist afternoon.
Worms laid the table: leafy plates, muddy forks, a dusty tablecloth.
Echolocation was sent out to all their slippery friends.
There were ears to be whispered into, with tiny sounds:
“Schrrrr ssshllrrr, glrp... squish!
Krkrkr fffrttt
schluk schluk schluk, trrrrk!”
Grunting, rasping, rhythmic scrunching.
Ants cramped up in a dirty kitchen, baking cakes and whatnot
(chestnut lemon drizzle, sponge tree bark, red velvet compost),
singing hymns, cracking jokes:
“Ptptptpt... tiktiktik
chk-chk. click-click
tss-tss! pip-pip!”
A single beetle dramatically entered the room, dressed in a little tuxedo (glass of martini in one leg, cigar in another, another cigar in another leg, and a little note in the next leg).
It began to recite a poem:
“Bzzz-kt skrrr-trrr, chrr-k-tk,
whrr-tt sss-krrt, fffttt-krk.
chp-chp bzz-rrr, tss-tss-frr,
tk-tk whrm, chirr-tkt-sss.”
The bees flapped their wings feverishly, a ladybug cried little insect tears, and the moles dug holes for everyone to sit comfortably
And so the creepy crawlers gathered softly (but immensely loud if you were an insect), until the moon became the sun and the crust of the Earth started to dry from the sudden heat of summer.

Catherine Danger @catherine_danger
For Fans Of: the label Simple Music Experience: Axel larsen & Helen island
Brussels-based artist Catherine Danger experiments in her music and videos with a multitude of textures dedicated to being altered or modified. In 2022, she released a cassette on the Simple Music Experience label, Roto Rites Dub, 40 minutes of slow, psychedelic
waves in the Illbient style. Two years later, she released Waiting Music For Stoned People on Bordeaux label Scolopendre, a gentle emotional spitfire transposed into reinjected melodies, glitchy samples, muffled bass and modified vocals. The associated tracks thus form a tormented SF(eminist) narrative, out of patriarchal time. In 2018, she set up an audiovisual label, 2files4free, with Daya Hallé, a label focused on combining sound and visual production, through a multiplicity of hybrid projects.

Slowfoam is the all-encompassing sound project of Berlin-based Madelyn Byrd. Their carefully crafted aural environments plunge listeners into paradoxical pools of deep meaning and obscurity, bubbling with transformative potential and the magic of the in-between.
Dive into Slowfoam’s aqueous world that alchemizes glitched-out, sparkling ambience, obfuscated pop, electro-acoustics, drone, processed field recordings, off-kilter polyrhythms, downtempo, and fuzzy poetics.
