A care space exploring mutual aid for the marginalised. Re-imagining wellness, transcending commodification with magic.
This event aims to explore how body and mind practices can create different social connections and foster community well-being. Inspired by mutual aid practices in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) community, spiritual readings, and the work of the NYC Liberation Clinic, we seek to reimagine both body care and magic as tools for healing and empowerment.
Additionally, this event will serve as a fundraising effort to support those affected by the current situations in Palestine and Lebanon. Your contributions will help amplify the voices and needs of these communities during challenging times.
Program Highlights
Performance:
A ritual performance that cleanses the space with queer energy and addresses the collective presence in the space.
Witchy Zone:
Tarot readings and astrology consultations will accompany you in uncovering insights of difficult questions.
Clinic Zone:
Massages, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatment, and limited spots for hand-poke tattoo (more information will follow)
Self-Care Spaces:
Calming activities and guided meditations are contributed by HC residents and the Roodkapje team.
Take-away Prints:
Our collection of prints will allow you to take a piece of the experience home with you.
Tattoo experience
We're honored to welcome artist Kwinnie Lê, who offers tattoo experiences rooted in pre-colonial traditions for BIPOC (Queer) individuals. Kwinnie’s work emphasizes tattoos as intentional conversation, incorporating themes of mythology, and folklore for a personal, culturally resonant experience.
2 spots are available for a hand-poke tattoo, which takes approximately 2 hours to complete. This process includes a brief, intentional ritual between Kwinnie and the participant.
This is a fundraising event. We suggest a donation of €100 as a baseline, with solidarity pricing available to accommodate individual capacity. You can book the service here and make your donation on the spot.
Donation Scales:
€0-10: UNDER-RESOURCED
For individuals struggling with basic needs like housing, food, and healthcare. Your priority is survival, and we welcome you to participate without financial pressure.
€10-40: MIDDLE-RESOURCED
For those with a steady income who can meet basic needs but may face difficulties with savings, paying off debt, or managing large expenses. Your contribution helps support the cause, while remaining affordable.
€40-100: SUFFICIENTLY-RESOURCED
For those with financial security, such as the ability to build savings, own property, or comfortably manage debt. Your generous donation will significantly impact our fundraising goals.
Accessibility Information:
The toilet is gender-neutral, but not wheelchair accessible. However, other areas of the space are wheelchair accessible.
Children are welcome to stay around our self-care sessions while you engage in practices.
Most areas will be soft-spoken, especially within the clinic zone, ensuring a calm atmosphere.
If needed, there is a private breastfeeding area available.
There will be essential oil scents present in the space, which may affect those with sensitivities.
