The Hearing Dogs take you on a journey, with stops at 90s alternative rock, 70s punk, and the mod culture of the 60s. Compressed into a new elixir of danceable power with a clear essence of “actions speak louder than words” rock’n’roll. Imagine throwing the musical influences of The Beatles, The Cure, Pixies, Nirvana, Blur, and David Bowie into a blender. Add two tablespoons of a firm coating of Sonic Youth and Smashing Pumpkins, and voilà, you’ve summarized the sound in a nutshell.
Under their old name, the group released four singles, but on this night, they will be presenting their debut album “Rotterdam Never Sleeps” for the first time. It’s a concept album that takes you to the fictional “Lavender Kingdom” and the adventure to overthrow this evil regime, narrated in a way reminiscent of a video game. Let yourself be transported back to the 90s, full of gritty guitars and funky solos, brimming with dynamism and wild nights.
