TUTORIAL | How to Horse Yourself with Fae van Venetieën
From Friday, May 28th
Online Tutorial
Available on [Hamburger.Community ](http://)

In the wonderous world of Once Upon a Time…, horses have a special place. Make-up artist Fae van Venetieën will help you to bring out the horse in yourself, and will teach you how to horse yourself. With just a few brushes and three colours of make-up you will transform into the horse you always wanted to be!

For this online tutorial, you will need the following items:
a small make-up brush
a mirror
make-up sponge
white, brown and black make-up
a cup with water

Fae van Venetiën (FAE) is a certified MUA and drag artist. Graduated as an allround makeup artist from B-Academy in 2019, she’s remained doing makeup for others and herself. Ranging from drag to editorial, makeup has been her biggest passion for as long as she can remember. Although her heart lies within the extreme, obscure and creative, and most importantly: drag. She is inspired and driven by the art of transformation, creativity and living a certain fantasy.

This is the second collaborative program of Roodkapje’s Hamburger Communities of Art and Live. ‘Once Upon a Time…’ takes the wonderful world of HCA-artist Danielle Hoogendoorn as a point of departure. As Hoogendoorn creates paintings and sculptures in which animals take the lead, magical, absurd and real scenario’s intertwine. They are fairy tales in themselves, both in narrative construction and aesthetics, balancing on the boundaries of art, kitsch, and dark humour. Focussed on the fairy tale, both in its historical and contemporary appearance, Once Upon a Time… provides a range of events going deeper into human-animal relationships, (non-linear) storytelling, and laying bare structures of transformation, imagination and wonder.

The Hamburger Community programs of Roodkapje provide two yearlong development trajectories for five young, talented artists (Art), and five aspiring event programmers (Live). Throughout the year both the Hamburger Community of Art and Live collectively work towards five interdisciplinary programmes built around the work and research of the individual Hamb
urger Community artists.
During their stay at Roodkapje the artists and residents will receive guidance and support from professionals from their respective fields, and through an in-depth trajectory that is aimed at further developing their professional skills and positions.

Roodkapje’s Hamburger Community of Art was made possible with the kind support of Stichting Bevordering van Volkskracht, Stichting Ondernemersbelangen Rotterdam, Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds, Fleur Groenendijk Foundation and the Gemeente Rotterdam.
