With his project Winterdagen, musician and composer Mink Steekelenburg explores the boundaries of neoclassical piano music and electronics. However, that is not an objective in itself: the intention with each release is again on a certain emotion, tension and atmosphere. New single ‘Clearing’, released on London label Waterway Records, starts off as an unpolished lo-fi recording. Gradually, stabelenburg interweaves the dull sound with more pronounced productions and warm synths. A beautiful connection between decline and flowering. Steekelenburg draws inspiration from many collaborations: for each project he works with new like-minded minds to take mutual creativity to a higher level. No wonder his work borrows well from film, dance and theater. In addition to shows at Motel Mozaique and Grasnapolsky, Winterdagen gave performances in Amsterdam Fringe, Eye Filmmuseum, Boijmans van Beuningen and Center Pompidou. Steekelenburg is also the brain behind Foarlôn, an audiovisual performance that was performed ten times at Oerol in 2018.

This seated show is dedicated to the EP Phase In, the upcoming work of Steekelenburg, produced by composer Maarten Vos. With a palette of analog synths, cello and piano, this work gives the illusion that the earth is quietly shifting beneath your feet. With every track you wake up in a new place.
