The Avonden, unfortunately without the best rhythm section of Voorhout and surroundings tonight, but wíth Marc (vocals, shitty guitar) and other Mark (on expensive guitar). Mark & Mark released two albums in better times: ‘Nachtschade’ (2016) and ‘What a Circle Is’ (2018).
The albums got eight stars alltogether in De Volkskrant: “(…) music that sounds as if The Velvet Underground is soft, for the neighbors”; “(…) Again the most beautiful Dutch-spoken album of the year (…)”. They are currently working on a third album, of which they will play some songs, in addition to ‘Laat de Kerken Branden’, which they always play. Or maybe not this time.
