Last year, Pinkman label head Marsman launched his Italorator radio show, where he, along with guest DJs, takes listeners on a journey into the brighter side of the '80s. Think Italo disco, synth-pop, and Hi-NRG classics, as well as contemporary music with a similar vibe. What began as a beloved radio show on Operator is now evolving into an event series, with the first edition set to take place on January 31 at Roodkapje!
For this debut event, Marsman is joined by Nijmegen-based producer and DJ Luca Dell'Orso, who will deliver an Italo-focused live set. With releases on labels like Bordello A Parigi, Wrong Era, and Ritmo Fatale, you can count on him to deliver a performance that captures the true spirit of Italo disco. The night will kick off with a set from local talent and AanTafel! member, Lotus.

Luca dell’Orso
Luca dell’Orso is best known for his unique interpretation of Italo Disco, Wave and Electro. Luca likes
his music snappy and raw: character & authenticity are keywords in his book. The Dutchman started
producing music around 2015 and with well received releases on labels such as Bordello A Parigi, XXX,
Red Laser Records, Wrong Era and Ritmo Fatale he’s rapidly is making a name for himself in the
underground dance scene. He’s been especially active since 2020, producing and releasing 5 EP’s
since, as well as various remixes and appearances of VA’s.
For both his DJ sets and his own productions (& live sets), Luca tends to alternate between melancholy
and the well-known joyous melodies of Italo Disco while blending in the iconic West Coast sound
Dutch electro artists are so well known for. Even though Luca’s focus is rather niche his music has
frequently been played by well-known artists in the dance scene; The Blessed Madonna, Dixon,
Solomun, Curses, Perel and Palms Trax to name a few. Apart from is solo work, Luca is co-initiator and
curator of the Nijmegen based Italo/electro-inspired club night TUTTI.
Marsman
At the helm of his beloved label, Marsman preaches the ‘Pinkman sound’ to congregations of devoted followers. Holding court for over ten years now, he released more than 100 records and hosted countless club nights all over the world.
With over 15 years behind the decks, and the breathless release schedule he orchestrates for Pinkman and its subsidiary labels - Mindri, Broken Dreams & Charlois - Marsman has become a central figure in a close-knit scene of rough-around-the-edges DIY dance music.
Combining euphoric disco and wave with darker, harder sounds is a trademark move from one of Rotterdam’s finest exports. And he’s done it at all the best spots the Netherlands has to offer, with appearances at Dekmantel, Garage Noord, Pip, Drift Festival and Intergalactic FM. Further afield, he played at renowned international clubs like Panorama Bar, Tresor, Khidi and FOLD.
Beyond all this, he’s a founding member of cherished radio station Operator, where he also runs his Italorator series. Previously Marsman ran the sorely missed Pinkman record store in the heart of Rotterdam’s creative Schieblock, giving him a well-deserved cult hero status for independent music in the harbour city and far, far beyond.
Lotus
Lotus is a DJ and visual artist based in Rotterdam. Big diva disco changes into synthesizers while dipping her toes into groovy house music, always carrying warm grooves. Prepare for sounds that demand a full-body dance experience.
