For their second collaboration with Roodkapje, SAMODIVA temporarily joins the Anarchief. The Rotterdam-based collective opens its weeklong presentation introducing works by its founding members Magdalena Petrova & Lui Surreal. The weeklong exhibition takes life during the celebration night on Friday 29th November, cast under the spell of the dogtooth violet, (re)introducing a tantalizing lineup in a unique microcosm.
There will be a soft opening of the Samodiva x Anarchief exhibition on the 27th of November!
SAMODIVA
SAMODIVA is a Rotterdam based collective, working at the cornerstone between club culture and interdisciplinary performance. SAMODIVA crafts immersive experiences by infusing installation art with the curation of dynamic line ups. Fostering connections and building community are focal points of the collective, which presents experimental practices to challenge the traditional club format.

MAGDALENA PETROVA
Magdalena Petrova is a multimedia & performance artist and cultural worker based in Rotterdam. Magdalena’s creative journey has been deeply influenced by the interplay of her animistic Bulgarian heritage and the complexities of her upbringing amidst the transformative shadows of post-Soviet reality. She uses the Self and the Other as shapeshifting mediums through ritual invention.
By reconnecting with past, present, and future selves, Petrova aims to create a temporal multi-dimensionality that invites audiences to reflect on their own timelines and transformations. She experiments with surrealist methods to encompass the multiple facets of grief, personal history, experience and expression through performance, installation, visual and sound art.

LUI SURREAL
Currently orbiting the eternal theme of Love reflecting on its peaks and valleys in euphoria and addiction. Lui Surreal is the stage name and inter-disciplinary project of Scottish born artist Lui MacRae Wolstencroft. Sober and dedicated to their craft, Lui aims to create
work that affirms and inspires aspiring creatives, proving that genuine expression can thrive without worldly limitations.
For SAMODIVA V: DOGTOOTH VIOLET Lui will be making a return to performance installation, suspending a mattress from the ceiling of Roodkapje’s exhibition space, as a transition (portal!!) into the opening of the club night.
