Billiam & The Split Bills + Plexi Stad

Roodkapje x Nospray presents Billiam & The Split Bills (AUS)
ffo: Research Reactor Corp., Satanic Togas, Snooper

Billiam & The Split Bills
Billiam has been putting out records, both self released and on labels like Goodbye Boozy, Erste Theke Tontraeger, Warttmann Inc, Under The Gun and Legless Records since 2020 jumping back and forth between endless sounds of drum machines, blown out synthesizers and screeching vocals telling tales of Sonic The Hedgehog, Cardboard Boxes and Autism Spectrum Disorder. He records and plays everything himself out of sheer boredom and terror in a mad scientist fashion in order to keep his specific brand of “autismcore” going

His most recent LP, Animation Cel, is his most fully formed yet with an endless barrage of idea after idea moving out of step with itself trying to get to the next sound quicker than the last blown out
with fuzzy warmth and harsh feedback in a soup that’s aroma can be smelt two states across with an equal amount of songs about figuring out your brain and Knuckles the Echidna

Billiam & The Split Bills formed on New Years Eve 2022 as a ragtag group of early 20s degenerates withthe only goal of making a lot of very stupid noise as fast as they can, blowing out the sound of the records to Mach 51 speeds, blasting through song after song with only breaks for strange improv andan endless barrage of brechtian alienation.

PLEXI STAD
The year 2022 marked the birth of Antwerp music group Plexi Stad. With a musical blend of melancholy and itchiness, the band creates an atmospheric journey that resists definition as much as it is rhythmically infectious. The outfit's first EP 'Probation Baby’, was released on 20 april 2023 on Belly Button Records and their own label ALAS!. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Rafael Valles Hilario.

A cheerful melody in Plexi Stad's world quickly unravels into a darker, more abrasive soundscape. An invitation to dance transforms into a sonic confrontation, revealing the band's penchant for teasing the listener with unexpected twists. The cheerful facade dissolves into an intense and raw expression that refuses to bend to the prevailing norms. The poetic punk prowess of singer Peleman is as much seductive as it is dismissive. There's no compromise in both the instrumental and lyrical delivery.
The band delves into the dark sounds of James Chance & The Contortions, embracing the dissonant and unpredictable. Simultaneously, they channel the defiant spirit of bands like The Pop Group and TC Matic. Plexi Stad absorbs, reinterprets, and spits out a sound that is uniquely theirs.

The second EP 'Siren Dance' will come out early 2024 on Mangel Records. Recorded by Roald Duchateau at Stand Out studios. Mastered by Bill Skibbe from Third man Mastering.

Nospray

This evening is hosted by Nospray, a Rotterdam-based DIY collective with a keen ear for the most exciting bands of tomorrow. Uncompromising and punk, in both love of music and work ethic, a Nospray line-up gives as much attention to innovators in guitar music as it does underrated bands of the past. The local music scene is flourishing faster than ever since Nospray's arrival, and that's no coincidence.
