With a knack for starting moshpits in the blink of an eye, the Rotterdammers of Iguana Death Cult are a familiar sight in Rotterdam’s favorite venues. Their funky, energetic, and dynamic garage is infused with bits of punk and bops from soul, topped off with a little Africana and other world-music elements. Iguana’s sound is the embodiment of a wild night out, the colorful mischief of nights out where even a humdrum accountant can feel like a Clint Eastwood desperado. It is definite that these boys will bring the party, and rock the roof off the house.
With their third album ‘Echo Palace’, which was released in the Spring of 2023, the band travelled far and wide, to finally land in a wild show at the infamous SXSW showcase festival in Austin, Texas, where they conquered the hearts of the renowned record label Innovative Leisure. It’s bound to be a night full of familiar faces, wild dance moves and endless crowd surfers.
To get Roodkapje warmed up and sweating, Fellatio will bless us with their presence. They bring an existential perspective to the musical landscape with their repetitive, hypnotic, and pulsing Kraut sound. Their style oscillates between unrestrained energy, angular riffs, and extravagance, characterized by captivating hooks, meticulously crafted rhythms, and poetic punk. Armed with just a bass and drums, their performance will leave you with a lingering echo in your ears, a bellyache, and the sensation of sea legs.
