Futura Resistenza: Geier aus Stahl BAND (NL/AT) / Roxane Métayer (BE) / Weird Dust (BE)
Futura Resistenza presents Geier aus Stahl BAND (NL/AT) / Roxane Métayer (BE) / Weird Dust (BE) / Ever Widening Circles
For fans of: Experimental, Electronic, Folk, Raga-esque Drones, Industrial, Cold Wave Electronics, Das Ding, DAF, Teresa Winter, Laura Cannell, Tolouse Low Trax
Geier aus Stahl is one of many guises of multi-disciplinary Vienna born, Rotterdam-based artist Leonard Prochazka. Geier is a figure investigating on destructive power relations, autonomy and questions concerning „the self“. In summer 2022 he released his debut album „Strapazen und Genesung“ (strain and recovery) on the dutch label Knekelhuis which was named unmistakable throwback record with influences from the top tier of cold wave electronics, industrial and vintage electro-pop. (Boomkat) For a tour in spring of 2023 the project is undergoing a process of transformation to appear in a band formation for the very first time consisting of Paul Ebhart (electronix), Hannah Todt (guitar, bass) and Leonard Prochazka (drums, voice).“
Born in France and currently residing in Brussels, Roxane Métayer is a multidisciplinary artist. Learning the violin at a young age, she also developed herself as a visual artist, creating drawings, sculptures in uncommon materials as soap, and in recent years video. Her work as a musician is of an equally spontaneous nature. The violin is often taking the melodic lead, but at the same time serves a drone background.
Weird Dust is the project of Brussels-based producer Michael Crabbé.
His music has one eye on the past but always from a futuristic point of view, a juxtaposition that’s evident throughout his productions.
Soundwise, this much is true: tribal-inspired percussion is layered with heavily processed sounds sourced from analog and digital synths.
It’s library music for the modern age that will keep resonating into time to come. Like going back to the jungle, but on another planet!
Ever Widening Circles is the mostly-radio-based collaboration of Linus B, producer of music, art and graphic design, and Ash K, artist and writer. They cast handfuls of tracks, field recordings, interviews and poems—like pebbles accumulated in their pockets—onto the surface to see what happens when the ripples converge. https://www.mixcloud.com/EverWideningCircles/
Futura Resistenza is a label and platform from Brussels and Rotterdam, that operates somewhere on the border between performance, music and visual arts. Futura Resistenza programs series of concerts in Roodkapje. For this year they'll be taking the Intercity Direct together with musicians and artists from Brussels and Rotterdam who already have a connection with the label, as well as people who they simply admire and want to see perform.
