15 September ’22: Open information evening from 18:30-21:00
27 September ’22: Application deadline

The Hamburger Community is a TEST SITE for collective practice that moves beyond traditional disciplines. This experimental artist-residency laboratory runs from February – December 2023 and has its headquarters at Roodkapje in the city center of Rotterdam.

Hamburger Community – TEST SITE invites interdisciplinary artists (visual artists, musicians, performers, designers) to our 10-month laboratory for collaborative practice, collective fun and direct interaction between artists and audience. The trajectory’s main focus is playfulness and creating together. Members of the Hamburger Community get a shared studio- and workspace to which they have 24/7 access, a program of guidance and mentorships, a monthly stipend of € 500,- and basic production budget(s).

The Hamburger Community is an environment that is collaborative, interdisciplinary, dynamic, and aimed at creating direct connections between artist and audience. The program is focused on collective learning, experiment and public mediation, where you and fellow members share skills, ideas and learn from experienced artists and other cultural organizations. The HC program aims to enable artists to work directly with diverse audiences and find new ways in which their art can do so.
