Futura Resistenza presents Double Shrimp Time: Frank Hurricane, Knip Uw Haar, Lizzy Vandierendonck & The Postpeople
for fans of: Folk, noise and a haircut gone wrong
Frank Hurricane
Frank Hurricane is a legendary figure on the DIY touring circuit, one of America's great storytellers and a one-of-a-kind person.
Described as "John Fahey turned extremely posi-juggalo," he's a mystical troubadour of the American underbelly and a folk-blues singer-songwriter with incredible fingerstyle guitar chops. His songs vividly and irreverently (but also reverently!) depict a very specific corner of the Appalachian underbelly — tri-state Appalachian Trail rats and more. His new album Southern Shrymp (In The Big City) was released March 27, 2026. Previous singles include "Cinnamon of the Mountains," "Taylor and Rhonda," "Holy
Michael (Loves the Birds)," and "Lucky King Prawn." His PBS mini-documentary earned an Emmy nomination. He's currently recording new material with indie legend Karl Blau and maintains his reputation as a DIY touring hero.
Knip Uw Haar
Mysterious lo-fi folk straight out of the "Wyrd Bruges scene." Knip Uw Haar tests the
boundaries of anti-music, folk and soundscapes. Sounds like a musical universe somewhere between Abner Jay and Steely Dan. Knip Uw Haar is the solo project of Jelle Vos, who sometimes thinks about switching to a different band name but ends up sticking with it anyway. Maarten Derous, Lucy Lu and Neil Haesebrouck recently joined as well. So Lucy cut Maarten's hair and Neil his mustache.
Lizzy Vandierendonck
Lizzy Vandierendonck is a creator of happenings and set construction with a love for the awkward environment. She finds inspiration in the weather, nostalgia, DIY craftsmanship and charming clumsiness
The Postpeople
The Postpeople is a band born in Rotterdam in 2016, made up of Daniel Tuomey and Tracy Hanna. Both based in Rotterdam and both graduates from the Piet Zwart Institute, they work mainly with writing, reading and communication. Through various
sonic and performance strategies, they spread a single deconstructed creative process across two bodies and a series of technologies. Daniel builds noisy, complicated narratives from personal history, politics and storytelling, using drawing, furniture, sound and installations. Tracy's work is more of a noisy meditation on punk, DIY and improvisational sound-making, just making it up as they go
