Location: Delftseplein 39
SØWT+ GROTE GEELSTAART
A noise-rock double bill in which two bands reinvent the genre in their own unique way
Eindhoven’s SØWT deliver extraordinary craftsmanship in crafting heart-wrenching songs and heavy noise-rock riffs. With their new album Is This The Hard Part, they reveal renewed confidence — a fresh chapter in the quartet’s dark, melancholic universe. Their angular post-punk unfolds like an unrelenting storm cloud, with lightning and hail striking at regular intervals, while the tempest never fully subsides.
Grote Geelstaart takes only hairpin turns and sharp maneuvers that leave you completely dizzy. Their idiosyncratic noire-rock charges forward, sometimes twisting into warped disco beats, while two drummers transform into dual guitarists and angular synths merge with a robotic voice that leaves you disoriented. The Zeeland quintet, clad in crisp white shirts and flamboyant ties, keeps the pedal to the metal, shifting gears without pause — standing still is simply not an option.
This event is programmed by Rotown and Roodkapje.
