‘Trying to touch like 14 year olds in crash cars hit each other’ originated from a constant research for disorienting or confusing situations. By unraveling failures and fears, the contrast between the seemingly pure glorification of past occurrences and disturbance appears, among other things, in: suddenly being able to buy 100 barking toy dogs and wondering how content you are with them, asking yourself where to put your hands on something that hurts, pulling out grey hairs from your scalp at the age of eighteen and saying the phrase ‘you’ve grown so much in the past couple of years’ over and over again until there’s no air left in your lungs.

Performance ‘Look at us now’
A performance in which the childhood dream of being able to buy every toy you have ever wanted transforms into an unpleasant trap. A metaphor for the alienation and distancing away of what could have been. Your greediness is exposed to the whole world to see and you have to sit it out being the object in the shop window until the batteries run out.

Bio

By trying to research my failures, bad moments and confusing life events, I try to portray the contrast between disturbance and the seemingly pure glorification of childhood. My work is about disclosure, often both tragic and humorous and ranges from sculptures and videos to moving installation works that react to the viewer.
